Excellent article and spot on. Western countries need to get past the stereotypes and learn the positive and completely applicable lessons from places like Taiwan and Korea. To me the privacy trade-off is bunk – It can be managed in democratic places. I lived in China, Singapore for 20yrs and I would say the SARS and MERS outbreaks did give people a dry run for covid – how I wish the same happened in the West.
